LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — A young artist from Lafayette has just won a $25,000 scholarship. Gracie, a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana, was rewarded for designing a unique cell phone case.
Cox Communications held the contest to inspire young artists.
"I am very shocked; I did not expect this whatsoever," said Gracie. "That's pretty much to sum up my emotions. It was very surprising."
Her winning design will be mass-produced and sold at Cox Mobile stores and online. This opportunity not only awards Gracie with a scholarship but also showcases her creativity to a wider audience.
